At SPOT we're committed to the use of leading edge technology and state of the art materials in the design and fabrication of our upper and lower limb prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Our practitioners and technicians keep abreast of the latest techniques through continuing education programs, which include seminars, courses and training sessions. Plus, we work closely with many manufacturers on testing new products and providing information on what works and what doesn't.
We cover all aspects of Prosthetics and Orthotics including, but not limited to:
Prosthetics
- Below/above-knee prosthesis
- Upper extremity prosthesis (conventional and external power)
- Elbow, shoulder, and hip disarticulation
- Postoperative prostheses
- Partial foot
Orthotics
- Pediatric orthotics and cranial remolding
- Upper extremity and spinal orthotics
- Tenodesis orthoses
- Scoliosis management
- Lower extremity orthotic management
- Stance phase knee joint applications
- Sports orthoses
Advanced technology products include:
C-Leg®
The Otto Bock HealthCare C-Leg® and Compact™ microprocessor-controlled knees are designed to deliver the best in stability and reliability, even walking down stairs step over step and an easier time walking up and down inclines. The on-board computer built into the knee senses and calculates the needs of the user more than 50 times a second.
Harmony® VASS™ system
The Harmony® system by Otto Bock applies Harmony® VASS™ (Vacuum-Assisted Socket System) technology. The technology creates an elevated vacuum between the patient's liner and socket wall, promoting natural fluid exchange and a secure fit. More information...
DynamicArm®
The DynamicArm® from Otto Bock HealthCare provides a greater range of motion, faster response time to commands, and closely mimics natural arm movements, as well as allowing for quick, exact positioning of the hand, even with heavy objects.
Utah Arm
Since 1981, the Utah Arm from Motion Control, Inc. has been the premier myoelectric arm for above elbow amputees, letting the wearer move the arm and hand slowly or quickly in any position. The newest Utah Arm 3 (U3) has a computer interface that allows the prosthetist or wearer to fine-tune the adjustments to achieve maximum performance.
RHEO KNEE®
Ossur's RHEO KNEE® is the world first microprocessor swing and stance knee system to utilize the power of artificial intelligence. Capable of independent thought, it learns how the user walks, recognizing and responding immediately to changes in speed, load and terrain.
POWER KNEE™
The POWER KNEE™ from Ossur replaces true muscle activity to bend and straighten the knee as required. The POWER KNEE can lift the user when standing from a seated position; support the user while ascending inclines; and power them up stairs.
Trias+ Foot
The design concept of Otto Bock HealthCare's Trias+ Foot was modeled from the natural human foot. It provides exceptional walking function - easy rollover to reduce effort and conserve energy, improved gait symmetry, and a reduction of excessive forces on the contralateral limb.
Proprio Foot™
Ossur's Proprio Foot™ provides artificial proprioception - the sense of where the limb is in space. Patented artificial intelligence (AI) sorts out the information from the foot's sensor technology and activates the most appropriate response for the next step.
Flex-Foot® Axia™
The Flex-Foot® Axia™ by Ossur is the first product to feature a design that actually guides the foot through each step contributing to stability, balance and easy rollover. For amputees who engage in low to moderate level activities.
Iceross® Seal-in Liner
An innovative suction suspension liner incorporating a hypobaric sealing membrane that provides a firm, comfortable suspension without an external sleeve. It offers improved freedom of movement, increased comfort and simplified maintenance.
Cranial Remolding Orthoses
Cranial remolding orthoses are used to treat deformational plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, scaphocephaly and other head shape deformities in infants 3 to 18 months of age.
XT9 ESPK Knee
The XT9 Energy Storing Prosthetic Knee (ESPK) is designed for AK amputees who participate in extreme sports. The dynamic functions of the XT9 knee make it the only prosthetic limb that mimics the functions of the quadriceps during intense athletic use including all boarding activities.
